Facing the Giants

Facing the Giants.... A movie which I have not yet seen; however, after watching this 6 minute clip
I will see it ASAP.
Watch it. It's inspirational.
God has given us each gifts. It is up to each of us to use the gifts given to us.
Some of my strengths are not Rick's. And some of his strengths are DEFINITELY not mine :) We balance one another. I am blessed to be able to say that. The differences cause some bumps sometimes but in the long run, it all works out.
I encourage you to look around. See what your life is like. If you haven't experienced change or been challenged to grow, see what you are missing. Cause I know you are missing something.
Step out of your comfort zone ~ you'll be amazed at what can happen.
Don't know what your gifts are? Check with your pastor or your lifelong friend. He/she can help you figure it out.
Are you doing YOUR best in every avenue of your life?

Change

In just a relatively few short months, my "puppy" has grown from the first picture to the second. Many pounds later, finally potty trained, my dog doesn't look like a puppy anymore. He's only 9 months old but over 80 lbs!

Change can take minutes or years. My latest major change is still in progress. We moved. Movers are great and not so great depending on how you look at it. When they pack you, it's like Christmas as you open each box. The result, many boxes half unpacked because some of the items are needed sooner than the others.

But progress happens with effort each day. I have a final date of the 25th to be done for we are having an open house. Call me crazy because I'm beginning to think I am for having it so soon after moving.

Some change is welcomed. Some change is self-created and other change is created by family, friends, and even God. Change is a given. You cannot grow in any way without changing. We often fight it when we really should embrace it. I've made some decisions that will change my world by the end of the year... More on this later...

I need to go back to unpacking and organizing my new house....

What change have you welcomed or not welcomed lately?

Goals

"Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus" Phillipians 3:13-14 NKJ

I was looking for a scripture on goals today. I have been encouraged to set some goals in my Mary Kay business and to strive for them. My director often says, the goal does not change but the time frame does.

The scripture above reminds us that our ultimate goal should be to be ready for the PRIZE of God calling us home. Wow.

This spoke greatly to my heart and I wanted to share it. I thought it was the perfect way to also incorporate that I am a born-again Christian ~ have been since I was 12.

The picture above was from a camping trip in the eastern part of PA last summer. We had a goal to reach the top of the mountain. It was a lot farther than we had anticipated because we read the map incorrectly. What we thought was a 1 mile hike turned into a 4.5 mile hike with a puppy, 4 yr old and 2-10 yr olds. quite a trip and we didn't have enough food or water. But we MADE IT! It was worth it. The view was breathtaking!
The timeframe did change (it took us all day) but we reached our goal.

We don't know when God is going to call us but we have each day on earth to work towards that goal. Forget about the past mistakes or the "yesterdays". Live for today and tomorrow with the ultimate goal being with God!

What are your goals?

A new start

A new start in several ways....

My cousin, Chad (http://chadoneil.blogspot.com/) has been asking for a while now for me to start a blog... so today I did.

This is a picture I snapped while balancing ever so carefully on a rock ledge. Not the best photo but it is of a robin's nest. I might add too that I could not see into the nest to take the picture. You can see there is at least 1 baby bird.

Not sure what will come of this but thought it would be cool to have an online area to reach out to others and share some of "Holly" or dimples as some called me in my youth.

The exciting news for this month is that in less than 2 weeks, I will be moving. My "new start." My husband works in Maryland and has been commuting from PA (2 hours 1 way) for over a year. He finally decided that he had enough. So we are relocating closer to his work. So needless to say, my world will change dramatically in just a little bit. I'm excited and nervous as I'm sure anyone who has moved can relate. The upside is that his company is going to move us so I don't have to pack! Yeah! Although, I must admit, I am a bit nervous at having someone else touch my things.

Well, I will share more and more when I have time. I hope to take some cool pictures during the moving process and of the new house.

Stay tuned for more information and hopefully some cool stuff.

Let me know what you think....

Oh, and for those of you visiting from Chad's blog, you should recognize my garden picture from one of his previous posts. This is his handiwork :)

Later!
