"Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus" Phillipians 3:13-14 NKJ
I was looking for a scripture on goals today. I have been encouraged to set some goals in my Mary Kay business and to strive for them. My director often says, the goal does not change but the time frame does.
The scripture above reminds us that our ultimate goal should be to be ready for the PRIZE of God calling us home. Wow.
This spoke greatly to my heart and I wanted to share it. I thought it was the perfect way to also incorporate that I am a born-again Christian ~ have been since I was 12.
The picture above was from a camping trip in the eastern part of PA last summer. We had a goal to reach the top of the mountain. It was a lot farther than we had anticipated because we read the map incorrectly. What we thought was a 1 mile hike turned into a 4.5 mile hike with a puppy, 4 yr old and 2-10 yr olds. quite a trip and we didn't have enough food or water. But we MADE IT! It was worth it. The view was breathtaking!
The timeframe did change (it took us all day) but we reached our goal.
We don't know when God is going to call us but we have each day on earth to work towards that goal. Forget about the past mistakes or the "yesterdays". Live for today and tomorrow with the ultimate goal being with God!
What are your goals?

Great post, Holly! I like the beautiful view too. Sounds like quite the adventure you had hiking that day!
...my goal is to have fun with you in October when I visit :)
Great post! My goal is to live life to the fullest and enjoy every moment God has given me with my husband, family, friends! Serve Him completely and tell others about Him....Let them see Jesus in me.
Have a blessed day!
Hi Holly. I'm Chad's friend Michele. Remember? :)
My goal is to share Christ while living life to it's fullest. I have to work at my daily goals of getting stuff done that I need to, and doing what God has for me each day. That's the hard part! (work, house, study, music, etc.) I realize my life is like a puzzle piece, I must be doing my part to fit into the puzzle so others can then fit their pieces in too. Hope that makes sense!
Nice post. This question made me think about my goal. I don't have a specific answer but I just started reading the book: "Amish Grace" about the shooting that took place and how the Amish can forgive. I hope I can reach a goal someday of forgiveness like they can do. It amazes me how they can forgive like this. I haven't finished the book yet, but hope to learn something from it.
